Katrina
Katrina relief was devestating. it was incredable. it is an experience that must be repeated. and shared.Myth 1. New Orleans got hit/destroyed the worst.
Fact: Mississippi was hammered w/ the fury, while N.O. was the levy's water. The coast, over 60 miles is destroyed. And downtown N.O. is a survivor- French Quarter's livin' strong.
Myth 2. People lost their homes
Fact: Lost their homes? Sure, some homes had trees thru the roof, and others had such flood damage that the dry wall had to be knocked out and replaced. But let's not downplay the situation- there is nothing left but the cracked cement foundations.
Myth 3. There is a large need for food, clothes, and money in the area
Fact: Don't get me wrong, it doesn't hurt to be generous. BUT, they have food. There are wharehouses full of clothes-for free- available. Money isn't an issue.
They need help- Hands and Feet. you know, Manpower
A few photos for now: more to come
