Rachel's trip report

Wicked Post Rachel! You should feel honored, I am spending some of my last moments of the year 2005 reading your site and SMILING inward and outward! except the "jana burning her hand on the boiling pot of water" bit. was that necessary?? j/k =)

For all those who Aren't Rachel, go to her site: http://spaces.msn.com/members/zidele
Funny day-by-day blips about our trip.
BTW, she calls America bigger and dumber than OZ (australia). see (I mean, go read) what I deal with!

Rach, I tried to comment. couldn't. but Nomes' comment makes up for that, right???

sidebar!!

LOOK! It's Fixed! It's different, and I can't put my finger on WHY, but I won't complain.
How terrible: I'm here in Chi-town playing on the computer =)
I laugh at myself- Hahaha

Highlights thus far:
1. Seeing Leasa of course... and Carlo!
2. my cousins in Greek town- celebrating their heritage. no I"m not Greek, it's on their mom's side
3. Found and ordered jacket that was stolen in San Diego- I thought it was gone forever (appearantely it's a popular style)
4. This city smells like chocolate.

Downside: 2nd visit and still no Wicked

To Be Reported (yet to come tonight): 2nd City Comedy Club. That's a good almost New Years activity ("is this a good actividy?")

A message? a sign?

Whoe.

I'm sitting here, alone actually, and it's midnight.
Suddenly I hear music coming from the kitchen. I go upstairs thinking it's my phone, muffled. nope.
It's my Ipod, full volume, playing I will walk by faith by Jeremy Camp.
I haven't touched the Ipod in days. and it was on shuffle before.

Template issues

My apologies for the sidebar. I have no clue what went wrong. Previously, the nice white divider and all the words (profile, archives, ...) didn't start until the posts ended. That's, like, way down the page.
So, girlscout that I was, I make do with the available resources (my brain, one online business class that covered web sites, and lots of trial and error) and get this. Hard to read, I know. Hence the apology. It's really all I've got to offer.
Me digressing- it reminded me of the Matrix so i googled the trilogy. the results:

me + computer programming = www.whatisthematrix.warnerbros.com In the Ultimate DVD site, I'm the spinning squares on the right hand side

Last post of the day- don't forget to look at the Pictures below! They're what's exciting!

I Finally saw this movie! I've been waiting, so I ordered it pay-per-view last night (no late returns This time!)
Anyways, my mom found it really creepy, but I Really Enjoyed it. better than the first, I think.
This could be because I think Johnny Depp is a wicked actor- think back: Benny and Joon Edward Scissorhands Pirates of the Caribbean and many others. He's rad.
I'll try to keep my movie plugs to a minimum, but it was on my mind! As is future New Years plans... hmm

it's back

Day 10, and the voice is back. Rad.

By the way, I was talkin' to a good college friend and she quoted this:
"Everybody's normal until you get to know them"
Actually, it's the title of a book. Regardless, the quote is a sweet one.

photo album of the Tour

-Rugby on the beach, and sunset on a different beach =). I didn't play in the rugby game- my throat wasn't open enough to pant (it's when I first lost my voice! boo)
-Packin' up for another leg of the journey. This chaos was the norm for travel days!
-An Aussie snowboarding chick. She was awesome, and so fully devoted to the snow! amazing
-The Most Incredable Chocolate Dessert EVER! Different bits in the shapes of Paris!

Overwhelmed!

There is so much I want to post! Holiday stuff, travel stuff, some old post drafts from October that are kinda coo'.
With all this in mind, I'll make this THE Christmas post, and go from there. One baby step at a time!...

YAY: the Haunted Mansion at Disneyland- they changed the Whole RIDE to match the Nightmare Before Christmas. "Jack's back..."

The Family Tree. I loooove sitting near it, and having snow (rain? sleet? something white!) on the ground is key

The Aussie's and Kiwi's FIRST WHITE CHRISTMAS!! We had a party =)

Photo album: 1st two weeks...

From Right to Left, like a book:

-our toilet had an Awesome view!

Tolkien's poem- an old draft I will randomly place here because i still like it

"All that is gold does not glitter,
Not all those who wander are lost;
The old that is strong does not wither,
Deep roots are not reached by the frost.
From the ashes a fire shall be woken,
A light from the shadows shall spring;
Renewed shall be blade that was broken,
The crownless again shall be king.”
--J.R.R Tolkien

Some things impact me more and more each time I hear them. This excerpt does that- goosebumps every time!

Props to the LOTR movies, but, seriously, there is a whole new dimension to the literary versions that the movies couldn't touch on.

Reader or not, you should give at least one of them a try! Your left (right?) brain will thank you!
