mmmm, what a way to spend the winter

BTW, I've joined myspace. finally. I still don't know how to use it, but i'll get there.

I've been thinking about the awesome people I bonded with this winter. Makes me think of an old girlscout song: "circle's round it has no end that's how long i want to be your friend"

sigh...

Out of Season but I cannot resist!

Anyone in the house speak Aussie???

The Australian Version of Jingle Bells!

Dashing through the bush,
in a rusty Holden Ute,
Kicking up the dust,
esky in the boot,
Kelpie by my side,
singing Christmas songs,
It's Summer time and I am in
my singlet, shorts and thongs
Oh! Jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way,Christmas in Australia on a scorching summers day,
Hey!Jingle bells, jingle bells, Christmas time is beaut!,Oh what fun it is to ride in a rusty Holden Ute.
Engine's getting hot;
we dodge the kangaroos,
The swaggie climbs aboard,
he is welcome too.
All the family's there,
sitting by the pool,
Christmas Day the Aussie way,
by the barbecue.
Oh! Jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way,Christmas in Australia on a scorching summers day,
Hey!Jingle bells, jingle bells, Christmas time is beaut!,Oh what fun it is to ride in a rusty Holden Ute.
Come the afternoon,
Grandpa has a doze,
The kids and Uncle Bruce,
are swimming in their clothes.
The time comes 'round to go,
we take the family snap,
Pack the car and all shoot through,
before the washing up.
Oh! Jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way,Christmas in Australia on a scorching summers day,
Hey!Jingle bells, jingle bells, Christmas time is beaut!,Oh what fun it is to ride in a rusty Holden Ute

Let me tell you, I cannot think of a single thing to post. How 'bout some highlights from everyday life right now.

-Watching TV for the first time in ages, and having it become a nightly ritual. whoe

-Taking turns reading Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire outloud w/ my partner. We alternate chapters. It's quite fun, really.

-Haggling with Staples, with the Holiday Inn, with Dollar Rent a Car, and with whomever else we come into contact with in order to stay w/in budget. Not my favorite part. But I've not made any enemies, so I see that as a positive thing.

- Eating fastfood. 'nuf said.

-text messaging - lucky it's a work phone!

-Standing in front of hundreds of students, lecture upon lecture, and telling them about the awesomest opportunity for their summer ever. goooooooooooooooooo isv

-Saying goodbye. I'm quite good at it now. BUT Simon, my aussie buddy, returns to Sydney in less than a week. Not that I see him when he's here anyway, but the idea that he's going so far is what gets me. Ah, friends. it's as they say, "when in Rome..." ...

(that one's for dana)

-waiting for Adam Duckworth's blog update. i admit it.

-I watched a puppy playing outside today. cute little guy.

-hahahahahaha. i'm done.

this is my explanation saying that i have no explanation. just so you know. like, fyi style.

because I like movies

I gotta mention 2 other romances.
*** Garden State- how I failed to mention it before I have no idea
The Notebook. I have to admit.. it really isn't a favorite. I realize I am a minority here, and I have no explanation except I am a woman and we are hard to understand. i don't even understand myself. Regardless, it does deserve some recognition. as does 10 things I hate about you.

ooh, gotta go to work. see ya!

Romance... romantic movies, that is!

My favorite has been decided.
There are Heaps of awesome romances on the shelves- Amelie (one of the best EVER), Sleepless in Seattle, Benny and Joon, That Thing You Do, Wedding Singer, Princess Bride, How to lose a Guy in 10 Days, Love Actually, Indiana Jones (oh, wait...)
But here it is, folks. The movie that steals MY heart:

Pride and Prejudice- the old, the new, the book. However you give it to me, I will take it!

did I mention I'm in love with Darcy? 'cause I am.

Dana and I got to see it Big Screen for $1 last night at a campus theatre. went to the 7pm, and ALMOST stayed for the 9:30pm! ha. well, why not for one dollar, right? instead we went home and read Harry Potter.

it was a crazy combo that resulted in crazy dreams!!!! i think i'm digressing...
