My soap box: jumping to conclusions. Examples include being angry at someone for not calling or being late before you know the reason. Or being huffy at a stranger who was rude when you have no idea what's going on in their life right now!

As humans, we are really good at focusing on ourselves; thus, we take things personally way too often. Many times that we feel slighted, it's just a accidental result and not personal at all. Along with other things, Elphaba was a victim of this phoenomena.

Chore I like the LEAST: Laundry
Why? Several reasons. 1. each step takes ages. seperate. wash. dry and wash the other colors. washer's always done before dryer. ect ect. THEN, you get done, and lo and behold, the clothes you're wearing are dirty. so you're really not done at all! grr. and don't you think it: i would get Cold doing the laundry any other way.

Chore I like the MOST: Dishes!!!
Why? WARM water for one! You can wash, dry, and put Everything away, and truly be done with it. unlike the above chore... still bitter...
lol

note: our college apartment didn't have a dishwasher =) or cable TV, for that matter!

Okay. I admit. 39 degrees is too cold for a frisbee game.

Once upon a time, there was a little girl who was blessed to be a princess. Her father the King loved her very much, but she became restless without other lil ones to play with. Day after day she would sit at her window and watch the little kids of the villiage run and play. As she watched, she forgot about the robe on her shoulders that draped down her back. She forgot about the ring on her finger, and the beautiful soft slippers upon her feet. She saw only the children over the palace wall.

One day she couldn't take it anymore. She folded her robe, hung her ring, and stepped out of her slippers. She happily donned some old ragged clothes, and crept out of the palace and over the wall. The children were just beginning a game of baseball. Barefoot, the rocks hurt her feet, but she played hard anyway, blistering her hands and falling in the dirt. They played and played, though she grew hungry and tired. Suddenly from the streets the sound of trumpets pierced the air. The King! His Royalty was coming!

The Children ran to the trees and climbed up high to catch one glimpse of His Majesty. The dazed princess climbed, too. As He came by, she cried out "Papa, daddy, I'm over here!" But she was hushed and shushed on every side. "You're not a princess!" the children cried! "Who do you think you are? You're barefoot like us, you're blistered like us, your dirty, sweaty, hungry, tired.. just like Us! You're at the mercy of this world, too! look around and face the facts."

She looked around. They were right. The dirt seemed to stain her deeper than skin. Her body ached. Her head ached, too, as her expectations of life over the wall fell swift and hard. She began to cry as she realized all she had given up. What was she thinking? She was crushed.

Just then, a hush fell among the children and their biting remarks died away. A shadow fell over her, and she looked up to see the King himself hold out his hand. "My daughter" he cried. "My little one. Come!" And she did. She fell into her daddy's arms and cried into his shoulder. "I'm so sorry daddy. I'm so dirty now.. i can never go back to the palace!"

He smiled, took her hand, and they rode together through the gates, for He had gone out Himself to look for her. She was bathed and scrubbed clean. She slept and was rested. The King Himself came in and placed her feet, bandaged and healing, back into their slippers. He placed the ring back on her finger. He placed the robe about her shoulders so it draped down her back. As He did, He cried out "Let's have a feast and celebrate. For this daughter of mine was dead and is alive again; she was lost, and now, is Found."

Subject: FW: Larry LaPrise has passed away
With all the sadness and trauma going on in the world at the moment,
it is worth reflecting on the death of a very important person, which almost went unnoticed last week.

Larry LaPrise, the man that wrote "The Hokey Pokey" died peacefully at the age of 93.
The most traumatic part for his family was getting him into the coffin.
They put his left leg in, and then the trouble started.

Shut up. You know it's funny.
Now send it on to someone else and make them smile
