Katrina
Katrina relief was devestating. it was incredable. it is an experience that must be repeated. and shared.
Myth 1. New Orleans got hit/destroyed the worst.Fact: Mississippi was hammered w/ the fury, while N.O. was the levy's water. The coast, over 60 miles is destroyed. And downtown N.O. is a survivor- French Quarter's livin' strong.Myth 2. People lost their homesFact: Lost their homes? Sure, some homes had trees thru the roof, and others had such flood damage that the dry wall had to be knocked out and replaced. But let's not downplay the situation- there is nothing left but the cracked cement foundations.Myth 3. There is a large need for food, clothes, and money in the areaFact: Don't get me wrong, it doesn't hurt to be generous. BUT, they have food. There are wharehouses full of clothes-for free- available. Money isn't an issue. They need help- Hands and Feet. you know, Manpower A few photos for now: more to come1-What's left of a beautiful tree that graced the shoreside road's median. Interpret it's structure as you wish. Victory or defeat...2. foundations. no neighborhood left3. a rescue vehicle4. remains of a shoreside carnival. my guess is this was the foundation for the ticket window, snackshop,...

Dreams...
I have had several dreams regarding Bungee Jumping. Not normal dreams, not bad dreams, and the same one had repeated itself 3-4 times now.
dream 1. It's night and there's a group of us around the base of some bars, like a swingset but higher. A girl that's getting or has gotten married, my sister or a friend, are sitting at the top w/ the cord around their legs ready to jump. Like it signifies their marriage or something.Wierd because the girls just hangin' out and we're all chatting with her and waiting. My interpretation: Marriage is being bound to someone permanently, but that enables one to do far more than they could on their own. W/ a cord, one can FLY.dream 2. I'm back in Cairns, AUS, and I won't jump again. I love the rush of falling, but the climb to get there and the anticipation of it is too scary for me. so I don't do it. My interpretation: I don't know. but i am a bit worried that it is connected to me and marriage somehow, since the other was!? any ideas???http://www.sleeps.com/dictionary/dictionary.html I've not checked w/ this yet. I'll have to when I get home!
